Celebration of the Birth Anniversary of Imam Baqir (a.s.) at the Islamic Centre of England

A celebration was hosted at the Islamic centre of England on the auspicious birth anniversary of Imam Baqir (a.s.) with the presence of followers of Ahl al-Bait (a.s.) residing in London.
According to the Public Relations office of The Islamic Centre of England, at this celebration which was held on Sunday evening on January 22, 2023, HIWM Seyed Hashem Moosavi stated in his speech in English and Persian: Imam Baqir (a.s.) was the first Imam as the direct descendant of the Prophet (s.a.w.a) and Imam Ali (a.s.). Amongst the Shias he is renowned as an Imam (a.s.) and among the Sunnis as a great jurist.
HIWM Moosavi cited that the establishment of The Islamic University of Medina was due to the efforts of this noble Imam (a.s.) and added: “Shia in the words of Imam Baqir (a.s.) is addressed in a hadith to Jabir is follows: Our Shiites are not known except with humility, humbleness, trustworthiness, remembrance of God abundantly, fasting, prayer, goodness to parents; looking after the conditions of neighbours, dervishes, the needy, debtors and orphans; truthful in speech, reciting the Qur’an, keeping control of their speech about people except stating goodness, and they considered as trustworthy among their people in everything.
Imam Baqir (a.s.) continues to Jabir: “Do not let the people’s methods lead you to believe that it is enough for people to say: I love Ali (a.s.) and I am his follower, but in practice they will not be useful to him. So fear Allah and work for Allah, since the most beloved and honourable of His servants are the most pious and obedient of them.
HIWM Seyed Hashem Moosavi also pointed to the auspicious arrival of the month of Rajab emphasizing on the acquisition of spirituality during this blessed month.
During the programme a Kahoot competition was held with a focus on Imam Baqir (a.s.) and the winners of this competition received gifts to mark the event.
Three eulogists of the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.) also recited in Arabic and Persian during the ceremony.
