The Eid al-Adha prayer was held on the 21st of July 2021 in the presence of a large number of Momenin (believers) in the Islamic Centre of England.
This religious duty was led by HIWM Seyyed Abbas Abedi and with the presence of Muslims from different ethnic backgrounds. In his sermons, HIWM Abedi congratulated Muslims on the beginning of the blessed decade of the Imamate and Wilayah that is adorned with Eid al-Adha which is a celebration of liberation from the bondage of the soul and the flourishing of faith.
The preacher of the Eid al-Adha prayer said in his first sermon in Arabic: According to a noble verse of the Qur’an, the blessed person is the one who purifies his soul from sins.
HIWM Abedi, referred to the story of Abraham and Ishmael and mentioned: “The self-sacrifice and giving up the desires of these two prophets (peace be upon them) is a symbol and model for every Muslim”.
In the second sermon which he delivered in both English and Persian, he said: If we want to celebrate Eid al-Adha, we must do five righteous deeds: 1. Avoiding sin, 2. the constant remembrance of God, 3. pleasing those who are upsets with you, 4. Visiting graves of your beloved ones and 5. helping poor and needy people.
