Contents

Description

As in previous years, the Tebyan School affiliated to the Islamic Centre of England is organising a national Qur’an competition for children and teenagers in the UK on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan 1445. All boys and girls aged between 5 and 15 years are welcome to enter this competition!

To ensure a fairer judgement in the competition, the attendees are divided into different levels. Those interested in participating in this Qur’an competition can register in three levels: Recitation (Tarteel), Recitation (Tahqeeq), and Memorisation.

The competition is held in two stages: Selective and Final. Participants in the Selective stage can register at their schools or centres across the UK until 17th February 2024.

The winners from first to third place in the Selective competition will be announced to the Tebyan School no later than 24th February 2024. The winners of the Selective Competition will compete in the final stage on Saturday, 9th March 2024, at the Islamic Centre of England. Prizes will be awarded to the top three contestants in the final Qur’an competition.

Tips for Parents:

  • Don’t put your children under pressure for memorising Qur’an. This experience should be an enjoyable and fun experience for your little ones.
  • Use some videos for helping your children in their Qur’an memorisation journey. You can find some of these videos HERE.
  • Try to talk to your children about the meaning of the Surah they are memorising. This helps them to have a more lasting memorisation of the Surah. You can find several reliable translations of Qur’an in different languages at http://www.parsQur’an.com/
  • Practice and Repeat are the keys in memorisation. And even when they memorised a Surah, they still need to practice and repeat to keep that memorised Surah.
  • We kept the number of Surahs necessary for this competition as low as possible. The reason is that we wanted your children to have a smooth and enjoyable experience while attending this competition. This is just a starting window for them to look at their world from a Qur’anic perspective.
