If you are between 5 to 9 years old, you need to recite the last 15 Surahs of Quran (Surah Teen afterward).

Please refer to the judgement criteria of the competition to know how to perform better in the competition.

Tips for parents:

  • Please use THESE VIDEOS for helping your children in reciting these Surahs.
  • Please show the COMPETITION JUDGEMENT CHECKLIST to your children, letting them know how to perform on the competition day.
  • Please make sure that your child is not stressed before, during, and after the competition. The ultimate aim of this competition is to encourage your children to know more about Quran and how they can implement it in their lives. We should not make this opportunity as a stressful event.

When your children are reciting the Surahs and verses, help them to understand the meaning of what they are reciting. You can find several reliable translations of Quran in different languages at http://www.parsquran.com/

2- Quran Memorisation

Quran memorisation is one of the fields of this competition. See the figure below to know which Surahs you need to memorise before the competition:

If you are between 5 to 9 years old, you need to memorise the last 15 Surahs of Quran (Surah Teen afterward).

If you are between 10 to 15 years old, you need to memorise the last 20 Surahs of Quran (Surah Borooj afterward).

Please refer to the judgement criteria of the competition to know how to perform better in the competition.

Tips for Parents:

  • Don’t put your children under pressure for memorising Quran. This experience should be an enjoyable and fun experience for your little ones.
  • Use some videos for helping your children in their Quran memorisation journey. You can find some of these videos HERE.
  • Try to talk to your children about the meaning of the Surah they are memorising. This helps them to have a more lasting memorisation of the Surah. You can find several reliable translations of Quran in different languages at http://www.parsquran.com/
  • Practice and Repeat are the keys in memorisation. And even when they memorised a Surah, they still need to practice and repeat to keep that memorised Surah.
  • We kept the number of Surahs necessary for this competition as low as possible. The reason is that we wanted your children to have a smooth and enjoyable experience while attending this competition. This is just a starting window for them to look at their world from a Quranic perspective.

3- Quranic Concepts

Quranic Concepts is one of the fields of this competition. Here you need to see, read, and listen to some nice resources which elaborate on Quran verses. And then, you need to take part in a quiz. This quiz could be done in-person or online.

There are 30 verses with Tafseer. If you are between 5 to 9 years old, you need to choose 10 out of those 30 verses and attempt the quiz for those 10 verses. If you are between 10 to 15 years old, you need to choose 20 out of those 30 verses and attempt the quiz for those 20 verses.

Please make sure that you read and listen to the Tafseer material before attempting the quiz. Each competition attendee is allowed to do the quiz only once.

Tips for parents:

  • Please choose a time which is convenient for both you and your child to attempt the quiz.
  • Please accompany your child while attempting the quiz. You only can read the questions and answers for them if they cannot do it themselves. But please make sure that you are not giving them any hint about the right answer.
  • Please supervise your child while attempting the quiz and make sure that s/he is not reading / using the learning resources (Tafseer) relevant to those verses.
  • The quiz will be available online from 10th to 15th March 2023.
  • You can attempt the online quiz at ic-el.uk

Every child can attempt the quiz only once. Please make sure that your child did not try the quiz before the main attempt.
