The Commemoration of the Passing of the Prophet of Mercy (pbuh) and the Martyrdom of Two Luminous Stars of Wilayah (pbut) at the Islamic Centre of England – 2024

The commemoration of the passing of the Prophet of Mercy, Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), and the martyrdom of the two shining stars of Imamate and Wilayah, Imam Hasan Mujtaba (a.s.) and Imam Reza (a.s.), was held with the presence of believers and Shiites residing in London at the Islamic Centre of England.
This ceremony took place over two nights, on 1st and 2nd of September 2024, and was conducted in three languages, with mourners attending. During this event, Hujjat al-Islam Hussaini Qomi delivered a speech in Persian, Sheikh Ali Masoud in Arabic, and Dr. Saeed Subhani in English. They spoke about the personality of the great Prophet of Islam (pbuh) and the virtues of the two martyred Imams, Imam Hasan Mujtaba (a.s.) and Imam Reza (a.s.). Additionally, eulogists of Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.) recited elegies and lamentations.
Hujjat al-Islam Hussaini Qomi, during his speech, elaborated on the characteristics and conduct of the Noble Prophet of Islam (pbuh) and the martyred Imams (pbut). He stated that the conduct of the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.), like that of their noble ancestor (pbuh), was based on forgiveness, sacrifice, kindness, compassion, and helping others because the foundation of Islam is based on guidance.
Hujjat al-Islam Hussaini Qomi, who is also a media expert, continued his speech by emphasizing the importance of recognizing the deviations within the Islamic community. He addressed one of the misconceptions often propagated in the promotion of Islam, which claims that the success and expansion of Islam were due to two factors: the wealth of Lady Khadijah (s.a.) and the sword of Imam Ali (a.s.). In response to this misconception, he quoted the distinguished researcher, the late Ayatollah Mousavi Lari, saying: “In the ten years of the Prophet (pbuh)’s presence in Medina, and the wars that were imposed upon him (pbuh), only about a thousand infidels were killed. Therefore, considering this statistic, can it be said that Islam spread by the sword?” Hujjat al-Islam Hussaini Qomi emphasized that the Noble Prophet of Islam (pbuh), after enduring the most severe tortures from the disbelievers for 13 years, was forced to migrate from Mecca, yet his (pbuh) enemies pursued him (pbuh) for 400 kilometres and came to fight him (pbuh) in Medina.
