Grand Celebration of the Birth of the Noble Prophet of Islam (s.a.) and Sadiq of Al-Aba (as) at the Islamic Centre of England – 2024

On the auspicious occasion of the birth of the most honoured creation of the universe, the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), and Sadiq of Al-Aba (a.s.), a grand celebration was held at the Islamic Centre of England.
This ceremony took place on 20th September 2024, in three languages—Arabic, English, and Persian—with the presence of various nationalities of Shiites residing in London at the Islamic Centre of England.
Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Seyed Hashem Moosavi, the Imam of the Islamic Centre of England, delivered a speech in Persian during the ceremony, highlighting the virtues and lifestyle of the Noble Prophet of Islam. He emphasized, based on verse 107 of Surah Al-Anbiya in the Holy Quran, that the Noble Prophet of Islam was a mercy to the worlds. He stated that this verse contains three attributes that encompass all creatures of the world in all ages, including even the divine angels, within this mercy.
He further explained the reason for the widespread nature of this mercy for all people of the world, both believers and non-believers: “From various Quranic verses, it is clearly understood that prophethood is God’s mercy upon humanity, and without the prophets, humans would have lost their way to happiness in this world and the hereafter. Therefore, the existence of the Greatest Prophet (pbuh) is a source of mercy for all humans, and even if some people choose not to benefit from it, this does not affect the universal nature of the Prophet’s mercy.”
Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Moosavi also mentioned that preventing divine punishment, refraining from cursing his enemies, and having extraordinary compassion towards people were among the merciful characteristics of the Great Prophet of Islam.
The Imam of the Islamic Centre of England also spoke about the personality traits and the role of Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.) in founding Shia jurisprudence and religious sciences.
Hojjat al-Islam Karbabadi and Hojjat al-Islam Sheikh Mirza Abbas also delivered speeches in Arabic and English respectively on the virtues of the Prophethood and the attributes of the last Prophet and Messenger of God (pbuh).
During this celebration, after recitations of poems in praise of the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.) in Arabic and Persian, a Kahoot quiz competition was held, and prizes were awarded to the top three winners.
