The 25th Qur’an Competition Held at the Islamic Centre of England – 2025

The 25th Qur’an Competition was organized by Tebyan School, affiliated with the Islamic Centre of England, coinciding with the months of Ramadan and Shawwal 1446 AH (March and April 2025 AD), with the registration of 213 participants.

The competition featured four categories: Qur’an recitation (Tarteel and Tahqiq), memorization, Qur’anic drawing, and a Qur’anic concepts quiz. It was designed for three age groups: 5–7 years, 8–12 years, and 13–15 years, for both girls and boys. Full details for each category were made available through a dedicated page on the Islamic Centre’s website.

The Qur’an recitation and memorization contests were held in-person on Saturday, 26th April 2025, with 126 participants attending at the halls of the Islamic Centre. The competitions were based on the selected surahs announced in advance. Meanwhile, the Qur’anic drawing and concepts quiz competitions were conducted online during the month of Ramadan. In these sections, participants submitted their artworks and quiz answers through an online platform based on selected verses.

The closing ceremony took place on the evening of Saturday, 26th  April 2025, featuring the recitation of Qur’anic verses, the screening of a Tawsheeh  video, and a report on the competition’s proceedings.
Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Seyed Hashem Moosavi, the Imam of the Islamic Centre of England, in his speech, expressed gratitude for the successful organization of the Qur’anic gathering and described the Holy Qur’an as an endless ocean from which everyone can benefit according to their capacity. Referring to a hadith from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he emphasized the importance of raising children with a close connection to the Qur’an and highlighted the crucial role of parents in this path.

At the end of the ceremony, Qur’an teachers, judges, and competition organizers were honored, and 39 outstanding participants across various categories — memorization, recitation, drawing, and Qur’anic concepts — were awarded certificates of appreciation, competition trophies, and valuable prizes.
