Commemoration ceremony marking the Martyrdom of Imam Sadiq Al Muhammad (pbuh) at the Islamic Centre of England
On the occasion of the Martyrdom of the 6th Imam, Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS), the bright star in the sky of Imamate and Wilayat, a mourning ceremony was held in three languages: Persian, Arabic and English, at the Islamic Centre of England.
In this event, which was held over three nights from the 2nd of May to the 4th of May, Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Seyed Hashem Moosavi, Imam of the Islamic Centre of England, referred to the virtues of Imam Jafar Sadiq (pbuh) and his role in the development of Shia jurisprudence in his speech. He said, “The main reason Twelver Shiites are attributed to Imam Sadiq and Jafari jurisprudence is that more than 70% of the religious teachings of our Shiites have reached us through this respectable Imam (pbuh).
He then explained the subject of peace from the point of view of the Qur’an and hadiths. He said, “According to what we understand from the Qur’an and hadiths, we have two types of peace, the real peace and the imaginary peace.”
The Imam of the Islamic Centre of England stated that God Almighty considers the Holy Quran to be the source of true peace. Anyone or anything that provides true peace other than The Almighty is provided through His (The Almighty)’s permission.
Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Moosavi also pointed out some examples of things, using the hadiths of Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him), that people consider to be causes of peace. They are not real causes of peace but rather temporary and unreal feelings of peace.
In this event, Sheikh Shabir al-Lawati from Oman gave a speech in Arabic for three nights and English for one night at two different times and halls. Some eulogies were recited in this ceremony in memory of the Ahl al-Bayt (pbut) in Persian and Arabic.
