Celebration of the birthday of the eighth Imam, Imam Reza (AS) at the Islamic Centre of England.
The celebration of the birthday of Hazrat Samin al-Hujaj Imam Ali bin Musa al-Reza (as) was held at the Islamic Centre of England.
This ceremony was held on Saturday night, 18th May 2024, with the presence of Shiites of different nationalities of Persian, English and Arabic speakers residing in London. Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Seyed Hashem Moosavi, the Imam of the Islamic Centre of England, spoke in Farsi about the blessings and virtues of two personalities. Hazrat Masoumeh (pbuh) and her honorable brother Imam Reza (pbuh) in the ten days of honour. He said in relation to the question, “Why people do not have the right to choose an Imam (pbuh) in order to clarify the position of Imamate of Imam Reza, (peace be upon him).”
He said, “Do these people understand the value of the Imam (pbuh) and the position of the Imam (pbuh) among the Ummah, that they should have the right to choose the Imam (pbuh)? In addition to this, Imamate (pbut) is so high, and its position is so lofty and deep that people’s mind does not comprehend the truth and its challenges. Thus, preventing them from understanding the importance of Imamate (pbut) thereby selecting them (pbut) by means of their votes and opinions or choose an Imam (pbuh) by their own will and choice.”
Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Moosavi further pointed to the Qur’anic verses about the position of Imamate (pbut) and added, “The Almighty God said in this regard: The position of Imamate (pbut) passed from (Hazrat) Ibrahim Khalil (as) to his descendants and finally reached the Seal of the Prophets (peace and blessings of God be upon him), Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) who delegated this position to the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (as). The position of Imamate (pbut) was given to Imam Ali (peace be upon him) on the command of The Almighty, and this position of Imamate (pbut) will remain in the children of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) until the Day of Resurrection.
In this ceremony, Sheikh Shabir al-Lawati also gave a speech in English and Arabic about the virtues and characteristics of the Imamate of Hazrat Samin al-Hujaj (as).
In the continuation of the ceremony, eulogies were recited in praise of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in Arabic, English and Persian.
