One of the most important titles of Lady Fatima Masoumeh (as) is “Karimah Ahl Al Bayt” (The Noble Lady of the Ahl Al Bayt). This title was granted to her by the Ahl Al Bayt (as) based on a truthful dream experienced by one of the great Shia scholars.
The story of this dream is as follows: The late Ayatollah Seyed Mahmoud Mar’ashi Najafi, the honourable father of the great Ayatollah Seyed Shahab al-Din Mar’ashi , was deeply eager to discover the location of the holy grave of Lady Fatima Zahra (as). He decided to recite the holy Qur’an in a specific and experienced way over forty nights. On the fortieth night, after completing the recitation and fervently seeking divine help, he rested. In his dream, he had the honour of meeting either Imam al-Baqir (as) or Imam al-Sadiq (as).
In the dream, the Imam said to him: “You should seek refuge with ‘Karimah Ahl Al Bayt’. Thinking the Imam was referring to Lady Fatima Zahra (as), he responded, “May I be sacrificed for you, I performed this Qur’anic recitation to learn the exact location of her grave so that I could better visit her.” The Imam replied: “I was referring to the holy grave of Lady Fatima Masoumeh (as) in Qom.” The Imam added, “For certain reasons, God has willed that the location of Lady Fatima Zahra’s grave remains hidden. Therefore, He has made the grave of Lady Fatima Masoumeh (as) a reflection of the noble grave of Lady Fatima Zahra (as). If it had been decreed that her grave be visible with the majesty and grandeur befitting it, God would have bestowed that same grandeur upon the grave of Lady Fatima Masoumeh (as).”
Ayatollah Marashi would often recount that his father had instructed him, “Although I am not able to go to Qom and visit her, you must do so.” Hence, Ayatollah Marashi made a trip to Iran to pilgrimage the Imam al-Ridha and Lady Fatima Masoumeh from Najaf, and at the insistence of the founder of the Qom Seminary, Ayatollah Haeri Yazdi, he remained there up to the end of his life.
The Extensive Intercession of Lady Fatima Masoumeh (as)
The late Sheikh Abbas Qomi, the author of Mafatih al-Jinan, once saw the late Mirza Qomi in a dream. Mirza Qumi is buried in the Sheikhani Cemetery in Qom.
Sheikh Abbas asked him, “Will Lady Fatima Masoumeh (as) intercede for the people of Qom?” Mirza Qomi was displeased by the question and responded with a stern look, asking, “What did you say?” Sheikh Abbas repeated the question. Mirza Qomi, with irritation, replied, “Why do you ask such a question? I am sufficient to intercede for the people of Qom. Lady Fatima Masoumeh (as) will intercede for all the Shia of the world!”
