Holding the 14th session of the weekly webinar on “Empowering Muslim Women”
In an era where so many people are working or studying from home and have more flexible timetables, the Islamic Centre of England is holding a few live interactive discussions with different speakers and topics such as a weekly webinar on “Empowering Muslim Women”.
The weekly webinar on Empowering Muslim Women is held live every Friday at 4:30 p.m. on virtual networks such as Zoom, YouTube, and Facebook.
The 14th session of this webinar, which was held on Friday, 3rd March 2023, at 16:30, dedicated its topic to the following subject:
“Desired Gender and Identity ”
In this meeting, which was addressed by Ms. Samira Masumzadeh, she spoke for 45 minutes on the subject of the meeting.
In this webinar, Ms. Samira Masumzadeh first discussed what identity is and then its relationship with gender. That is, what role does gender play in identity? She also tried to explain the formation of identity based on the desired discourse of the world and the ruling discourse on Muslim women.
Ms. Samira Masumzadeh is a Ph.D. student of psychology at Tehran University ad heads the Mahna group; which They are an active group in the field of teenagers.
In the second part of the meeting in the Q&A section, the meeting’s moderator, HIWM Seyed Amin Shamaei, read the questions raised by the participants in the meeting and the speaker answered them.
The session, which lasted 60 minutes, ended at 17:30.
